2024 Ribbon Cutting
On October 22, 2024, the Avenue City School community gathered to celebrate more than just the opening of a building—it marked the realization of a shared vision for health, teamwork, academic excellence, and community spirit. The event reflected the culmination of countless hours of planning, collaboration, and dedication, resulting in the creation of a gymnasium and additional classrooms that will serve as vital spaces for students to learn, grow, and thrive.
In addition to the building dedication, the day’s festivities included a Community PTO Chili Supper and a Middle School Basketball game, bringing together students, families, and community members in a true display of unity and school spirit.
The project was funded through our district's long-standing 98-cent tax levy, which has been pivotal in the development of various facilities over the years. In April 2023, voters overwhelmingly approved Proposition Avenue City School, allowing the continued use of this levy to fund the construction of new classrooms and a high school regulation gymnasium, among other enhancements. This approach enabled the district to uphold its commitment to safety, security, and educational excellence without increasing taxes.
